Cold Sore Acyclovir

I always have cold sores.. as in 365 days a year.?

I don't know what to do anymore.. I'm going insane over this. I've been living in Mexico for a year.. I work in the sun (I know that doesn't help). I take acyclovir tablets (200 mg) several times daily. My cold sore on my bottom lip comes out at least once a month (so one week out of 4).. BUT.. Even when I don't have one, I can feel it wanting to come out. My lip is ALWAYS sore and inflamed/swolen. If I use lip balm, it swells up even more (as if I were feeding the cold sore). If I kiss a girl, I'm almost 100% sure to have it come out the next day. Someone please help me, I'm miserable and I don't know what to do (other than try vacyclovir, or famvir, I know it's better but I can't afford it on my mexican salary!)
