Herpes Simplex 1

can i still transmit herpes simplex 1?
i have herpes simplex 1 i contracted it from being molested when i was younger. i have not had a outbreak since the initial one which was over 7 years ago. i have been intimate with my partner for over a year unprotected. he have not yet showed any symptoms....is it possible that he has it? is it ok to have unprotected sex when there is no outbreaks?
Herpes simplex 1 is typically oral herpes which very commonly happens on the mouth in the form of cold sores. You don't have to be molested to get this type. You can get it from kissing or being kissed by a relative or friend who has cold sores.
If you have it below the waist then you could possibly get it from being molested. This is less common to have but it's becoming the more common cause of genital herpes. If your molester gave you oral sex with a cold sore then it's possible to have this below the waist.
It's possible that he could have it, there is also a possibility that he may not have it. Just because you have herpes that doesn't mean your partner will automatically get herpes. Some people do manage not to get herpes from their partners if they are being responsible about it. He may eventually contract herpes from you if you have oral or regular sex while you have an out break.
If there is no out break when you have sex you are less likely to pass herpes on. If your partner doesn't know about this all ready you really should let him know about it, other wise he doesn't have a choice he will end up getting herpes and wondering where it came from.
