Cold Sore Herpes Contagious

If you gave someone oral sex then develop a cold sore the next day does that mean they could have?

So embarrasing..I gave my b/f oral sex but the next day I get a fever blister could I have been getting it already and was I contagious? Could he get Herpes from me? I am not sure kinda wierded me out..PLEASE HELP!
