I Have A Cold Sore Question?
okay im sick, and i got sick yesterday and i got two cold sores.
this is the second time im getting it.
i have this cold sore Orajel:medicated cold sore.

i woke up and felt it tingly. and knew what i was getting em
so i applied it every four hours and it feels the same, just really red.
and nothing has changed.
so do i have to stop applying it and let it blister and all that to get rid of the cold sore?
what do i do to get rid of the redness?

Cold sores rarely come from sharing drinks or having oral sex. They are often passed on during child hood by innocently kissing or being kissed by some one that has a cold sore.
Orajel won't do much for cold sores it doesn't have any antiviral medication in it, it's more meant to sooth pain on the inside of the mouth and tooth aches.
To heal a cold sore you should use creams like Abreva or Lipactin. They have medication in them that can help heal a cold sore faster. Apply one of those creams regularly to the sore until it goes away. An out break won't go away over night, they take on average 1-3 weeks to heal depending on how sever they are.
