Herpes Cold Sore Symptoms
Can cold sores (herpes) cause HIV-like symptoms?
I have cold sores and was doing some research on them, only to find that some of the symptoms of oral herpes includes swollen glands, feeling generally unwell, and so on. I also found out HIV can instigate similar symptoms. With that said, can cold sores cause HIV-like symptoms? I've never had unprotected sex and I'm going to get tested on Monday, but I'm stressing out at the possibility :/
EDIT: I meant to say that many of the symptoms of Herpes includes general unwellness and swollen lymph glands (as I have read on various websites). HIV lists those symptoms as well. Can this be true?
Herpes and HIV are not the same thing, the cold sores aka herpes simplex 1 I believe are just that; I don't personally get them but they are more of a pain just having sores which come and go as they please. the swollen glands can occur anytime you have an infection, like the flu or sunburn or cuts. Getting tested regardless is always the best idea, especially if you have had multiple partners condoms or not. Good luck.
