Cold Sores Inside Mouth
can cold sores that occur inside the mouth be spread to genitals?
I gave my bf oral sex tonight, and im beginning to notice a sore in my mouth, I get them occasionally and the doc thinks its simplex A but i think I could have have caught it from an old bf of mine..my current bf gets them on his lips sometimes, but mine are always just in the mouth. Anyways, is it possible I could have spread this to him down there? I really hope not bc I had no idea I had one until about an hour ago. this would ruin my life. I never had oral sex or any other kind of sex with any other guys with but my current bf. All ive ever done before him is makeout. please help!!
You mentioned that your current boyfriend gets cold sores on his lips ... so I don't believe that you can pass the virus onto him in the genital region. Genital herpes can definitely be caught via oral sex (I caught the virus in that way), however as far as I know you can't give someone a virus that they already have. If his outbreaks occur around the mouth then from my understanding he won't also have outbreaks in the genital area.
It's probably better to err on the side of caution though and avoid oral sex when you are having an outbreak.
