can symptoms of oral herpes show up within 24 hours after infection?
I had oral with my boyfriend yesterday and today I found a little scab above my top lip which is like 1cm long and kinda yellow. My boyfriend said he hasn't had herpes before (including cold sore herpes - fever blisters). Could my boyfriend be carrying the herpes virus but have no symptoms? Or could this little scab thing just be from making out too much? :s
Ok...herpes doesn't usually show up with in hours of having sex. There is an incubation period of at least a week.
Also oral herpes rarely comes from giving oral sex, it more commonly comes from kissing. You can get oral herpes simply by innocently kissing some one who has cold sores. This happens very often during child hood, some one with cold sores could have kissed you on the cheek when you were younger. Oral herpes is very common to have (50-80 percent of the population has it on the mouth), there is a good chance you boy friend could have it too.
