Cold Sore Virus Contagious
Cold sore scab contagious?
I had a cold sore recently, but I used hydrogen peroxide to, for lack of better word, rip it off my lip. I made sure to rinse the wound with rubbing alcohol and more hydrogen peroxide, and then I used Neosporin. I had a scab from the wound. I had a date with my boyfriend a couple days ago... He made sure not to kiss me in the area too much.
My question is, could the scab have transmitted the virus? It was not the cold sore "crust" it was a scab from removing the layer of skin.
yes, but extremely unlikely. the virus is not in the scab, that is just your platelets and it could have been transfered by small parts of the cold sore still exposed, but very unlikey after the scabbing process.
