Cold Sore Type 1
Can Type 1 Herpes become Type 2 Herpes?
I am married and my husband always gets these cold sores. I read that it is type 1. We have 2 kids and everytime I came up no herpes. But can I still get it if he goes down on me with a cold sores on his mouth. Type 1 or Type 2?
Cold sores on the mouth are typically Type 1 - which likes to live on the face (mouth)
If he goes down on you with a cold sore -which would be pretty stupid - he's probably smarter than that & keeping you safe - you could develop Type 1 of the genitals
BUT Type 1 doesn't prefer the genitals - so you're likely to have an outbreak or two - and not likely see it again.
So be careful - don't let him go down on you with cold sores....and quit worrying
Type 1 stays Type 1 and cannot become Type 2!
Type 2 is genital - it stays Type 2 and cannot become Type 1!
