Cold Sore Irritants

we had been hanging out for days
smoking cigarillos as time wasted by
no smoke ever or would escape
as we left windows up and lungs to dry

coughing on the rising of the smoke
we lowered the windows from high to low
January’s cold air to make us choke
leaving us sore throats and irritable tones

the shaken hands from an untamed wind
while coughing up cancers irritants
as ashes drop from the cigarillos end
burnt my tongue during a nicotine binge
