Cold Sore Hpv
i have been dx with hpv, 3 years ago, i had a adnormal pap, which lead to a colposcopy then a leap procdure?
, it came back with the results that i carry all the very worst strands that ;lead to cerival cancer, and i was just shy one step of it, i guess my ???? i have been breaking out with alot of cold sores lately for no reaso, and now i was dx by my dermatoligist with flat viral warts on my face, which are both caused by hpv, she feels that the virus usually lays dormant for a while and something that would weaken your immune system awoke it, i had the same probelms with the warts on my face and cold sores when i had it 3 years ago, does this mean i should worry about my next pap smear?????? please im worried any advise, im waiting for my pap results as we speak, please i would love to hear your advise
HPV is very common in sexually active women, although men can carry it to.HPV can lay dormant for long periods of time, and suddenly come back, being triggered by stress or a cold. Smoking is also a sure fire way to bring it out. As you have stated you already know it can turn into cervical ca, which is a very aggressive cancer. The best thing to do is to follow up with your gyn, and to not let those visits slip. You may also want to see a GYN/Oncologist for a second opinion (bring your records).
I work for a GYN Oncologist and this is a very common disease. We see it ALL the time. I would honestly wait for your results, but also go for a 2nd opinion.

1) A person who has a cold sore can transmit genital herpes to your partner:
Yes but only during the infectious period of cold sores.

Typically, the cold sore is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV 1) and genital herpes HSV 2. However, one can give an HSV1 and HSV2 vice versa. Thus a partner who has a cold sore can transmit genital herpes and vice versa.
