how can you hide cold sore? i just got one again, and it always makes me feel so scared to look or talk to people
I get them alot and they piss me off more than anything in the world. I have found a really good way of covering them though. Any chemist should sell a product called "Compeed", which are little circular transparent patches which you put on the cold sore and leave on for about 4-5 hours. You get about 15 in a box. If you're getting the sore on your lip, you stick on the patch and then use some kind of concealer or powder on the top of it to dull the shine. From a distance you really can't tell there's a sore there - It also prevents a scab from forming so the sore heals faster with less marks.
What can be a slight problem is that because the patch is circular, a fair amount of its surface area can be just stuck on an area of your lip not affected by the sore, which you don't need and it looks shiny. So what I do is cut the patch in half, and put that half on the sore, and put concealer or powder on it. Its a bit fiddly but it looks alot better.
This will sound weird but to treat the blister I use a cotton wool ball soaked in nail poish remover. You apply it to the sore for a good 30 seconds, and it stings to buggery, but it dries out the fluid in the blister so that it doesn't swell and burst, and makes the healing time quicker. An ice cube applied for a couple of minutes also works really well, or anything frozen - I often use a frozen oven chip. Then you stick on the patch. Do this morning and night and your sore should heal alot quicker and be much less noticeable.

That's why a lot of people rarely ever have an outbreak of cold sores. That means you should be eating properly and exercising on a regular basis. I'm not saying that you have to be perfect with your diet and exercise. You just need to add it in and start living a little more healthy. This will improve your immune system and force the virus to live dormant.
Another one of the cures for cold sores is general cleanliness. The virus is just spreading. A cold sore is designed to spread. You've probably noticed that a sore will eventually break open and start oozing a liquid. That liquid is nothing more than pure HSV-1 and it is designed to spread. Wash your hands and keep the cold sore clean and dry.
