Cold Sore Diagnosis

The doctors don't help me. Please help me with a diagnosis! What is wrong with me?
I am at wit's end. I have been to several doctors and no luck. I don't have insurance and not a lot of money.
I got a really bad case of strep throat 5 years ago. It spread to my skin, and after several rounds of antibiotics it cleared up. However, the lymph node on my right side never went down after that. In January of this year I got a horrible cold, fever, chills, stuffed up completely, sore throat. It lasted, on and off for about two months. The right side of my head was always worse. Even after the fatigue and fever went away, my right eustation tube never cleared, and my right sinuses have always been achy. Now, ever few months my throat hurts like hell and I get completely stuffed up. The doctors gave me flonase, amoxicillin and claritin. None have helped. I can't live with this crunchy water sound from my eustation tube any longer, and the ache in my neck/head and I am tired of getting sick. I do not have my tonsils out, I am 27 years old. I have never had allergies. Help!
You need to see a ear nose and throat specialist.
How to deal with a herpes diagnosis
I was diagnosed with herpes a number of years ago and I found it difficult at times dealing with the virus and the outbreaks.
Depending on your personality I think everyone reacts differently to a diagnosis, with some people taking it harder than others.
I have outlined below some helpful hints that may be useful to you in dealing with things if you have just been diagnosed.
1) Make sure you are dealing with herpes! This might sound abvious but I believe there are people out the that might have other conditons and think that they have herpes. I went to a number of doctors before I had a swab taken and had a confirmed diagnosis.
2) Make sure you see a doctor that is knowledable about STD's and maybe even has a testing facility themselves. I think they would give better advise and would be able to spot problems quicker.
3) Even though it can be difficult for some people to get a diagnosis remember that there are lots of people out there with the same virus and many do not even know it. You are not alone or some kind of victim so don't feel ashamed.
4) Some people start to worry that they will never be able to have a proper sex life again or that people will shun them and not want to go out with them. I can tell you that in my experience of the many girls I have met in the last 9 years not one has had a problem with herpes. I believe you will find the same thing as people are generally more interested in you than some little virus. Some girls have even told me that they really respected me for telling them and that they thought I really cared about them.
5) Start to pay some attention to your diet and try not eating sugar, nuts or chocolate when your virus is active. I have found that these foods make the outbreaks worse and last longer.
