Did Abreva for cold sores work for you?
UGH I had the pleasure of getting my first cold sore on Tuesday, I only have myself to blame for getting too close to my boyfriend a couple months ago when he had one, but I've been reading that lysine supplements help, so I've already 2000 mg of those tonight.
And I've read some really good reviews on Abreva, and I went to wal-mart and saw that its $16 for a tiny tube. Is it worth the buy? This thing is disgusting and I want it gone ASAP! Thanks!
Abreva works a little bit but it isn't an immediate change. The best time to fix it is right when it starts (when your lips start to tingle). Once it becomes a sore the best thing you can do is try to dry it out (don't put too much chap stick on it or lick your lips). It will stay for about a week. If you start to get cold sores reguraly, go to your doctor to get a prescription called Valtrex. It can stop one from starting.
